David G. Soehner started working with computers at a very
young age. Working happily with early Atari and TRS80 systems, he
began a love affair with early modem based telecommunications and BBS’s
(Bulletin Board Systems). After spending years teaching himself several
computer programming languages, he set out and launched the Crystal Palace BBS
at the age of 15 in 1983. An entrepreneur at heart, David would grow the
Crystal Palace BBS to become one of the largest BBS’s in the country servicing
25 users at any given time. The Crystal Palace BBS ran successfully for
12 years and serviced over 1 million calls. David was written up three
times in the local news papers, including front page coverage, with the
Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and also articles that were featured in the
Rochester Business Journal and the Rochester Times Union. David continued
working in the computer field, and starting at age 18, landed a coveted
position with GSL Computer Services, Inc. where he was hired to assist the
company in their migration from Wang business equipment to PC based LAN
systems.
With the PC market exploding he set out to start his own
company in 1995, founding WestStar Computer Consulting, Inc. with just
one client. WestStar grew to service over 80 local businesses
before moving to support WNY dental offices exclusively in 2003. To date,
WestStar Computer Consulting, Inc. is the only computer company that
specializes and works with dental offices exclusively. In our 18 years,
WestStar has completed over 800 successful dental installations and continues
to be the largest dedicated dental integration company in all of Western and
Central NY.
David has certifications with Microsoft, CompTia A+, Novell,
Carestream, Dentrix and many others. When not busy with WestStar, he
enjoys spending time with his wife Cinnamon and their six children. Other
passions include BBQ, cooking, sailing and spending quality time with close
friends and family.
